A 'congulated' style, as practiced here in the offshoots to the 'spickelty' main crust, emphasises an awkward knottiness or pokiness which is decidedly touchy-feely. When Kellsworthy rendered those simple, elegant line drawings of organic matter, at every crucial juncture of his traversal he was blinkered to the small number of differing viewpoints generated by the ground, which consistently presents itself for as much integration with the figure as possible. The affair reveals the stronghold of the descriptive in the linemaking urge.
